'There were no secrets about my father's entrepreneurial spirit at the kitchen table.'

Learning from each other by working together. That path is not for every son or daughter. At Agerion IT in Oud-Beijerland, it happens in abundance. Frank Frerichs (55) works here daily with both his daughter, Laura van Oudheusden-Frerichs (29), and his son, Stefan Frerichs (28).
"There were no secrets about my father's entrepreneurial spirit at the kitchen table when he was younger. And to this day, there still are not, since my goal has always been entrepreneurship, and there is a wealth of knowledge and experience at the same table," says Stefan.
Stefan, flanked by good friend and partner Coen van den Berg, has been the Managing Director of Agerion IT since January 1, 2022. A company founded in 2005 by his father, Frank, and his partner, Ed Berk. Agerion has a solid track record in (international) IT projects for clients such as EY, Blokker, Baker Tilly International, and HollandPharma.
"At the start, we thought: we will do big projects and keep things small. No staff, just Ed and me. That turned out a little differently, to say the least," laughs Frank. "Now, there are five partners who form the foundation of Agerion. Ed, Mario, and I have a combined total of over 75 years of consultancy experience in IT project management. Coen and Stefan joined in 2020 as the next generation of partners. This allows us to share our knowledge in the coming years and achieve the intended continuity within Agerion IT."

Stefan Frerichs
Both during and after their Business IT and Management studies at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Coen van den Berg and Stefan Frerichs pursued their own paths. However, entrepreneurship became a shared goal. While Stefan temporarily relocated to his wife's home country, he started managing Agerion's (project) administration from Canada. Coen, who had previously worked for digital service provider Incentro, also joined the company and was introduced to the project management profession by Frank.
Agerion, with its enthusiastic and skilled team, now not only manages IT projects for multinationals but also provides IT support to SMEs in the Hoeksche Waard region. This venture into SMEs was initiated by Stefan and Coen.
"We have both always been involved in hosting, websites, software implementations, and IT support. This expertise is now also being put to use within Agerion IT. We strive to be a reliable local IT partner with our own services. Think of Microsoft licenses, VoIP, and daily IT support, as well as privacy and security, for which we have assembled incredibly skilled and certified team members."

Agerion's strength has long been in working both hard and smart. This is a shared mentality within the ranks: short lines of communication, direct contact, easy accessibility, and above all: offering added value.
Stefan shares a clear vision:
"This way, we keep this company future-proof and create sufficient employment opportunities in the region. How great is it to not only be active from the Hoeksche Waard ourselves, but also to be able to offer the next generation a great place to work? That is also why we moved to the Scheepsmakershaven in Oud-Beijerland. We want to build a great company with down-to-earth, enthusiastic people. The Hoeksche Waard is and will remain the perfect location for that."
