CyberHacktic training Hoeksche Waard

Cyberhacktisch Event 22 04 2024

Hacking frenzy is unfortunately a daily occurrence. Organizations are increasingly experiencing problems from cyberattacks. The Hoeksche Waard region is no exception to this alarming trend. It is good to see that dozens of entrepreneurs are aware of this risk and joined the Cyberhacktic Event last night.

Regional collaboration

This evening was organised by a collaboration of various organisations:

Under the leadership of CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) Kelvin Rorive of CCRC, teams proactively worked on assignments regarding cyber attacks.

Interactive learning

The participants jointly developed action plans for a cyberattack. By visualizing the practicalities, they create a calmer environment when a cyberattack actually occurs. Effective preparation ensures that entrepreneurs continue to make the right decisions when the time comes.

"It's great to learn together about how to handle a cyberattack. Preparation gives peace of mind, in this case."

Coen van den Berg, Agerion IT

The first hours

The first hours after a cyberattack are crucial. The decisions made at that time influence subsequent chain reactions and thus the ultimate damage to a company. Even if you rely on a cloud provider, it is important to know what to do and what questions to ask at such a time.

Digital Goodiebag

All in all, an informative evening. A nice way to conclude today was with the digital goodie bag sent out by the collaborating parties. We would like to highlight:

  • 10 cybersecurity questions for your IT supplier
It's important to be aware of the current state of cybersecurity within your organization. We always appreciate being able to communicate clearly and concisely with our clients about this. Perhaps it will help you too. Platform Veilig Ondernemen (Safe Business Platform) compiled a top 10 list of cybersecurity questions.

  • First Aid Crisis Card
The Cyber Chain Resilience Consortium, co-owned by trainer Kelvin Rorive, conducts cyber exercises for companies on a daily basis. They developed the 'First Aid Crisis Card': a handy tool for the first hour of a cyber crisis. Do you know what to do?

  • Effectively managing a cyber crisis
Management is increasingly being held responsible for cyber policy within their organization. In fact, the responsibility for your cyber policy sometimes even extends to the cybersecurity of your suppliers. That's why the CCRC has developed a handy tool for effectively managing a cyber crisis. Reviewing this and developing a cyber policy will make your organization significantly more resilient to any cyber attack.
