We continue to be amazed by the exceptional products manufactured in the Netherlands, particularly in the Hoeksche Waard region. Some time ago, we were approached by Arlon Moniharapon of Crystal Company B.V. in Heinenoord—a remarkable enterprise operating in a unique segment.

Ballistic glass

Crystal Company specializes in the production of safety glass. And we’re not talking about HR++ windows for your home, but bullet-resistant and burglar-proof glass designed to protect valuable assets—and yes, even people. Crystal Company manufactures this ballistic glass to be exceptionally thin and lightweight, available in various resistance classes. This makes them a highly respected international player in sectors such as maritime, military, and automotive.

Growth to 8,000 m² production facility

These glass technologies are evolving rapidly, especially in today’s geopolitically turbulent times. What began 30 years ago as a modest 1,000 m² production facility has now grown eightfold. Naturally, this expansion brings new business challenges.

Replace the server room or fully migrate to the cloud?

An IT Crossroads

It was at this point that Crystal Company reached out to Agerion IT for an IT upgrade. Arlon Moniharapon explains: “Due to our outdated server room, we were considering either replacing it or migrating all our business data entirely to the cloud.”

Making decisions on clear scenarios

To arrive at the right solution, Crystal Company and Agerion IT jointly mapped out the current IT landscape. We outlined the cost implications of each possible route, enabling a well-informed decision.

Improved procurement conditions

“We believed it should be possible to find an IT partner offering better terms for managing our IT than what we were previously locked into. And that turned out to be absolutely true.”

Full migration to the cloud

As a result, all software licenses, hardware, and telephony were transferred to Agerion IT’s management. The outdated server room was retired, and the migration to the Microsoft 365 cloud was initiated. “The IT support team at Agerion IT worked quickly and efficiently, ensuring a smooth cloud migration. The team experienced virtually no disruption during the transition. In fact, the benefits were immediately apparent—for example, we began saving on unnecessary costs right away.”
